See it in action - Door Alarm & Personal Alarm

Questions?

Are personal alarms legal to carry in Australia?

Yes, personal safety alarms are legal to carry in Australia. In fact, they’re often recommended as a safe and legal self-defence alternative to pepper spray, which is restricted in many states.

A personal alarm is not a weapon, but a self-defence device designed to attract attention and deter threats. At 135dB, the Bellbrd personal safety alarm is loud enough to be effective from a distance — no physical contact required.

Recommended by police. and legal Australia-wide.

Are personal alarms allowed on planes?

Yes, you can take a personal alarm on a plane. Bellbrd is an Australian Border Force-friendly, travel-approved safety alarm that can go with you wherever you go.

There are no restrictions on carrying personal safety alarms on planes or public transport in Australia. It’s a police-approved travel safety device you can rely on.

How do I activate my Bellbrd personal safety alarm?

When you receive your Bellbrd it will come with operating instructions and a diagram of each of the buttons/features.

Bellbrd activates two ways:

  1. Pull the pin to trigger the 135dB alarm and flashing light.
  2. Hang it on a door handle — if it sways or falls, the alarm sounds automatically

This makes it ideal as a travel safety alarm, hotel room alarm, or renter-friendly home security option — no installation required.

Bellbrd only activates when the pin is pulled (no accidental presses), and includes a separate torch button for everyday use.

How do I deactivate my alarm?

To deactivate your Bellbrd personal alarm, simply push the pin back into place.

The latch fits snugly and clicks in with gentle pressure — easy to do in a hurry.

How loud is 135dB?

135dB is extremely loud — the Bellbrd personal alarm is one of the loudest legal alarms available in Australia.

To put it in context:

  • Dog barking: 60–80dB
  • Helicopter: 90–100dB
  • Ambulance siren: 100–120dB
  • Bellbrd Alarm: 135dB (like a jet engine)
  • Gunshot: 140–170dB

A 135dB siren can be heard from a great distance and is loud enough to startle and disorient.

How long does the battery last?

Bellbrd comes fully charged and ready to use.

  • Standby time: Up to 2 years
  • Alarm duration: 90 minutes continuous
  • Torch Use: 120 minutes

Bellbrd includes a USB-C charger and will notify you when the battery is low. With such a long standby time, you won’t need to charge it often.

Is the Bellbrd personal alarm "one-time use" only?

No, the Bellbrd alarm is not a one-time-use device — it’s completely reusable.

You can activate and deactivate it as many times as needed, and with its 2-year standby time, it's always ready when you are.

Bellbrd is designed for daily carry and long-term peace of mind.
